True Stories Market

The True Stories Market facilitates a platform for sharing untold true stories, primarily from the Western Balkan countries, to address the enduring consequences of past conflicts. It features seven carefully curated cases from prominent organisations and individuals dedicated to documenting the aftermath of these conflicts. Film industry professionals gain access to these cases via a public pitching session, enabling them to consider bringing these compelling stories to the screen, thereby making them accessible to broader audiences through the power of cinema. After the Festival, an open call invites filmmakers to apply with projects inspired by the showcased cases, facilitating their transition from market to screen. This year, a €10,000 award sponsored by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Dialogue Southeast Europe will be presented to a deserving recipient.
