The Response of Public Film Bodies to Pandemics Speakers
HAVC, the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, is the Government-backed strategic agency for the audiovisual sector in Croatia. It aims to stimulate a successful, vibrant audiovisual industry as well as to promote the widest possible enjoyment and understanding of audiovisual works throughout Croatia. HAVC finances the development, production and dissemination of Croatian audiovisual works, supports local creators, administers the “Filming in Croatia” program, and advises on policy issues on the national and European levels.
It was founded in 2008 as a result of the Law on Audiovisual Activities unanimously passed by the Croatian Parliament in July 2007. It is funded though annual grants from the Government and through contributions of all those using audiovisual works, such as broadcasters, digital, cable and satellite operators, Internet providers, telecoms, etc.
Film Center Serbia (FCS) is a government institution working under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia. FCS was founded in order to creatively stimulate and administrate financial support to Serbian film industry. Its goal is to direct and manage strategic development of Serbian film industry.
The Film Centre of Montenegro is a newly established public institution with the aim of creating the proper, stimulating environment for the Montenegrin film community and its promotion to Europe and the world. It's main activities include: the management of the film fund; the support of new film productions; the promotion of Montenegrin cinema and its potential for international productions; training programmes for film professionals directed towards raising the level of their professional skills; as well as the series of activities around film festivals and film literacy.
Jovan Marjanović has been involved in the Sarajevo Film Festival since 1999, first as a technician and programme coordinator and later as the CineLink manager from its first edition. He is now on the festival’s Board of Directors in charge of CineLink Industry Days. He was on the Board of Management of the Bosnian National Film Fund from 2011 and was its President from 2014 to 2016. He has served as the National Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Eurimages since 2006 In his capacity as the Chairman of the Eurimages Cinema Support scheme he initiated and overseen the implementation of Southeast Europe wide cinema digitization programme in 2009/10. Marjanović has produced a number of award-winning documentaries, shorts and feature films and consults for several international film institutions. He holds an MSc from the Cass Business School in London, and teaches Film Business at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo.
