One Of Those Days Where Hemme Dies
Every day we are saved from a hundred different deaths. Yet from the possibility of killing someone. While we are absorbed in our own stories, a man, who is just about to kill somebody, passes by.

Whose story should be told? The story of a stray bug, a tree, an older man that lingers around, a guy who talks nonstop, a baker, a greedy contractor or that of a red 1986 motorcycle? I wanted to show one ordinary day in the life of EYÜP, a poor, unsuccessful city boy working hard to dry and salt tomatoes under the boiling summer sun. A typical day with jokes and usual worries proceeds with Eyüp getting frustrated for not being given his daily wage and deciding to kill HEMME but ends up at a wedding where the two men join the same halay as Eyüp is constantly diverted with the trivialities by unaware townsmen during the day. In this film, I particularly aim to reveal how all human behaviour loses its dramatic, tragic and comical aspects on the periphery of these stories. In the end, we all join the halay. Just as in the well-known poem by Cemal Süreya, We are in a tram that leads us from Laleli to the world.
