Director Renen Schorr, takes a journey in time towards his grandfather, RABBI HELLER, the most decorated rabbi during Israel's war of independence. Schorr fulfils his grandfather's unwritten will to revise the unjust stereotype of Safed Orthodox rabbis as Yeshiva Jews– and prove that his grandfather, as well as his 19th century great-grandfather were legendary warriors.

RENER SCHORR, born Jerusalem, Israel, 1952 is a film director, screenwriter, film producer and Israeli film activist. In 1989, he founded Israel's first independent, national school for film and television, the Jerusalem Sam Spiegel Film School, and served as its director for thirty years. During the last 40 years he founded or co-founded the infrastructure of Israeli film funds and cinematheques. In December 2016 he was awarded the Chevalier des arts et lettres by the French government.
Director’s statement:
Dynasty or destiny, a voyage. I was always totally secular. My only link to religion was my maternal grandfather. It seemed we were on opposite poles, until my family and my career collided. The intrigue resulted in questions: What is courage? Military courage? Civilian courage? What is charisma? How can you define an aura? Do directors need charisma? Who are you more like, and not just visually, your mother or father? How do your grandparents, whom you’ve seen in your life, affect you? What happens to you when you check - your rabbinical dynasties, since the 12th century on one side, Orléans, and the 16th century (Prague) on the other? How does that touch you? Are your family dynasties a prison that confines you? What is the relative value of everything you have done in the cinema visa via your ancestors? Who am I, with all due respect, with all that my ancestors have done before me?
