Every day we are surrounded by the famous, yet unknown keyword – Gen Z. We listen and learn about their habits - what they watch, how they consume information, their likes and dislikes. Relevant voices from the region share their experience on how to remain interesting and keep momentum by creating content that will appeal to young audiences.

IDA WEISS

IDA WEISS works in film production since 1994. She graduated in multimedia production. She is co-founder and managing director of production company Bela film (Ltd) and producer of all its titles. She is also managing director of the cultural institute Senca Studio. Her production credits in both companies include more than 35 titles of various lengths and formats, which have been screened worldwide, including festivals like Cannes, Berlin, IDFA, Leipzig, Clermont-Ferrand, Oberhausen, Sheffield, BFI London, Sarajevo, Busan etc. In 2018 she directed the documentary film PETER VS HARRY (Highlighted Award at Dokudoc Film festival). She is a member of the European Film Academy and Association of Slovenian Film Producers, and an active member of EAVE, ACE, and EWA networks.

IVAN KNEŽEVIĆ

IVAN KNEŽEVIĆ was born in 1984 in Novi Sad, Serbia. He works as a screenwriter, editor and producer. Ivan is a graduate of the 2017/2018 SerialEyes program at the dffb in Berlin and the finalist of the 2020 Netflix + Imagine Impact pitch competition. He has projects in development with HBO Europe, UFA Fiction, Odeon Fiction GmbH and Firefly Productions in Serbia.

MARINA ANDREE ŠKOP

MARINA ANDREE ŠKOP (1973) is a director and producer focused on the creation of challenging content for children. Her first author’s feature documentary SEVDAH (2009) won the Audience Award at Sarajevo Film Festival. She co-directed and produced SF feature for kids MY GRANDPA IS AN ALIEN (2019) which won sixteen international awards. She is a member of the Croatian Freelance Artists’ Association and Croatian Producer Association.

MILAN STOJANOVIĆ

MILAN STOJANOVIĆ produced OASIS (2020 / Europa Cinemas Label, Venice Days) by Ivan Ikić and the hit children film HOW I LEARNED TO FLY (2022 / 200.000 admissions), directed by Radivoje Andrić. Milan co-produced MALMKROG by Cristi Puiu (2020 / Best Director, Encounters, Berlinale) and THE UNCLE (2022 / Proxima Special Jury Mention, KVIFF) by David Kapac and Andrija Mardešić, as well as the drama series THE LAST SOCIALIST ARTEFACT (2021 / Best Series, Int. Panorama, Series Mania) by Dalibor Matanić and Ankica Jurić Tilić. Milan is a member of EAVE network and the EAVE national coordinator for Serbia. He is also a member of ACE and the European Film Academy. He graduated from Film & TV Production at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, where he is now teaching.

FLORIAN WEGHORN

FLORIAN WEGHORN is the Programme Manager of Berlinale Talents, the talent development initiative of the Berlin International Film Festival. He also advises the seven Berlinale Talents offshoots, ranging from Sarajevo to Tokyo, and a global film community with almost 10.000 alumni. Born in 1976 in Oldenburg, Florian holds a M.A. in Theatre, Film and Television Studies from the University of Cologne with a thesis on ‘The Visual Language of Melancholy in Film.’ Florian joined the Berlinale team in 2002, initially working for the Generation section. From 2008 to 2014, he was the section’s co-director and a curator of its annually around 60 short and feature films. Between 2012 and 2019, Florian was also a member of the Berlinale Competition selection committee. In addition, Florian has worked for various other international film festivals, film funds, and cultural institutions and is a member of the European Film Academy. He is the author and editor of several publications covering film and youth culture.
