The film industry in Serbia has flourished in recent years. With production capacities booming, the question poses itself – how to keep the industry sustainable? ALEK CONIĆ

ALEK CONIĆ is a producer, director and screenwriter with decades of experience in film and television on American, Indian and European markets. Winning a scholarship from the Canadian Film Academy, he holds a bachelor's degree in directing and film production. After 10 years spent in Toronto, Canada, he returns to Belgrade where he establishes one of the most successful production companies in Serbia, Clockwork Film Production. He produced numerous international films in Serbia, seen by over 400 million viewers around the world, and first introduced Serbia as an attractive destination for film production to Bollywood producers. Co-produced film QUESTI GIORNI, which entered official selection of the Venice Film Festival. Film ROCKETRY, produced by Clockwork Film in Serbia premiered at this 2022 Cannes Film Festival. Film URI: THE SURGICAL STRIKE filmed in Serbia in 2017 won 4 Indian Film Academy Awards (Indian “Oscar”). Served as Board member of the Serbian Film Center and Vice president of the Serbian Film Commission. He is dedicated to the promotion of the Serbian film industry worldwide.

BOBAN JEVTIĆ

BOBAN JEVTIĆ is a Serbian film and TV screenwriter. From 2015 to 2019, he was the director of the Film Center of Serbia. Since 2019, Boban is working as a Head of Content Strategy and Development in the Firefly Productions, a production company from Belgrade, Serbia. As the creative director of Firefly Productions, he worked on TV series - TYCOON 1-2 (2020 -2022), UNDERNEATH 1-2 (2020 -2022), THE CLAN 1-3 (2020 -2022), THE FAMILY (2021), NO TRESPASSING 1-2 (2021-2022), BLACK WEDDING (2021), BOCK 27 (2021), CHILDREN OF EVIL (2022), THE FALL (2022). As a screenwriter among several works : MILITARY ACADEMY (2012 -2013 ), SUSPICIOUS FACES (2016 – 2017), BLACK SUN (2017) STRANGE LOVES (2022). In 2016, he was awarded the Order of the Ministry of Culture of France in the rank of Knight of Arts and Literature.

GORDAN MATIĆ

GORDAN MATIĆ graduated from the Faculty of Culture and Media in Belgrade. He completed his postgraduate studies at the Belgrade University of Arts, according to the UNESCO curriculum of Lumière University Lyon 2 for Culture and Media Management. His management experience includes: Director of Jazz FEST Kragujevac, Program director of international film festival SAFF, Founder and lecturer of FRKA - film workshop, also he is the owner of Re-kreativno Dud production house since 2005. As for his creative experience, he has two decades experience of working as director and writer for film, TV and theater. He is CEO of the Film Center Serbia since 2019.

IGOR TURČINOVIĆ

IGOR TURČINOVIĆ graduated in Film and TV Production at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts of the University of Arts in Belgrade in 1995. Since 2012, he is the Head of PFI Studios, a Belgrade- based production company which is part of the Pink Media Group (PMG), the largest commercial media entertainment group in Southeast Europe. His credits include the feature films MAMAROSH (2013), SEVEN AND A HALF (FIPRESCI Serbia Award as Film of the Year 2006) and WAIT FOR ME AND I WILL NOT COME (2009) by Miroslav Momčilović.

ALEX TRAILA

ALEX TRAILA is a consultant on European audiovisual policy. He has more than ten years of experience in the film industry and later in governmental affairs. Currently, he works as a policy advisor at Eurimages, Council of Europe’s Film Fund, steering the development of a set of measures dedicated to strengthening international co-production practices to increase geographically and topically diverse independent produced high-quality serial works. He has also contributed to several AV industry reports edited by the European Audiovisual Observatory, the European Commission, and the Council of Europe.

SANDRA ĐURIČKOVIĆ

SANDRA ĐURIČKOVIĆ has spent 20 years in production of international film and television projects fully or partially shot in Serbia, Montenegro and other surrounding countries (Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Hungary, Italy…). She started as a production assistant in 2002, worked her way as a production coordinator, financial controller and finally as production supervisor. In 2007, Belgrade-based production Company Work in Progress doo has been founded by Angie Vlaisavljević, and Sandra was the first person hired and still working as CFO. Work in Progress is a well-established film company focused on servicing foreign film productions shooting on location mainly in Serbia. Founded in 2007, WORK IN PROGRESS has completed over 50 international film productions from the USA, UK, France and Italy, including: THE UNION (Netflix), HORRORSCOPE (Sony), TRUE HAUNTING (Sony), FAIR PLAY (MRC), KNIVES OUT 2 (Netflix), HELLRAISER (Spyglass), MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE (PBS) –MINAMATA (Metalwork). Thanks to WORK IN PROGRESS, Serbia has hosted a multitude of international filmmakers and performers, including Daniel Craig, Johnny Depp, Salma Hayek, Rami Malek, Rachel Weisz, Marc Ruffalo, Adrien Brody, Ralph Fiennes, Gerard Butler, Vanessa Redgrave, Jessica Chastain, and many others.
